Sorrento Spa - Vail Plaza Hotel & Club
Our exclusive review of this spa
During a recent visit to Vail I gave myself a treat and got a massage at our hotel. The Vail Plaza Hotel & Club is a nice, cozy place to stay in Vail for families. Having stayed at this same hotel in the past and walking by the spa, I decided it was time to see what their spa experience was all about. I made my appointment and looked forward to my massage.
The front desk people are very professional, I was checked in, given a spa robe and sandals and then shown to the women’s locker room area. This area was very relaxing and peaceful. The bathrooms were toward the front and private. Next came the lookers and changing area. Lockers were secured with a 4 digit personal code that would lock and unlock the lockers without the worry of carrying around a key. This is always a nice feature. Less to worry about. After the lockers came a nice shower area, sauna and steam room. At the end of the hall was the entrance into the common, peaceful, waiting area.
Not long after I entered the waiting area, my massage therapist arrived and escorted me to my room. It was dimly lit, had soft, soothing, spa music playing and was very welcoming on a cold, Vail, winter day. Once I was settled on the massage table, my therapist began to work her magic. She used deep tissue massage to workout the kinks in my neck, back and shoulders. She topped off this part of the treatment by using a hot stone to go over these areas and workout more of the stress and tense spots. I think I could have had her work on these three areas all day and been content.
My therapist continued with her wonderful deep tissue massage combing the rest of my sore muscles with her magic hands. My feet felt great after she dug her fingers into each one. My legs and arms felt more relaxed as well. My massage was a huge success and one that I would enjoy again the next time I am in Vail.
