If you are into working out and are looking for some great snacks to through your recovery then we have some information for you. I know I feel depleted after a workout and am craving some food to fill me up. According to the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, you should grab a snack with a 4-to-1 ratio of carbs to protein within 30 minutes of your workout. It is proven that our bodies absorb liquid faster than any solid so the best choice is a shake. Try two scoops of whey protein powder with 1/2 cup of nonfat milk, ice and 1 cup of strawberries. This recipe suggestion was found in the October 2009 issue of Women’s Health.
