During exercise, you’re training more than just muscle; you’re training every part of your body. The three main systems that benefit directly from exercise include the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems. Focus on building that mind/body connection by keeping your body in a neutral position, in proper alignment. This will help build a strong connection between the mind and the working muscles. Concentrate on how the muscles feel as they work. The tension placed on bones helps strengthen them, and actually changes their shape and size. Maintaining proper alignment helps protect the nerves, which are sending and receiving signals from those muscles.
