ZOOMA 10k Tomorrow

The training is over and the ZOOMA 10k in Colorado Springs is tomorrow. The race beings and 7 am and depending on the course I hope to be finished by 8. I am not a fast runner outside. I enjoy my time and do my thing. I am doing this race because I wanted to complete a 10k and then move on to other things on my “to do list”. The training hasn’t been too tuff. I have been running in the mornings outside and using mapmyrun.com to find a route that was the distance I needed to go. This helped keep me motivated and helped me find different routes so I didn’t get board running.
There are a few downsides to this training. I didn’t drop any pounds. A lot of people say if you start running you will drop the pounds - not for me. I thought I might be able to tone up my baby belly - nope. I found that running was not helping me reach my goal weight. I also really missed the time I spent spinning on my cardio days. I found that my legs got a better workout from spinning and my shins didn’t pay the price. After last Sunday’s 5.5 mile run, my shins were on fire as were my hip flexors.
I look forward to running across the finish line tomorrow and then hitting the gym with my regular workout for awhile. Time to train for the Tri for Your Cause but just the bike and run.
