What Motivates You to Workout?

We all know that working out is good for us and that we should do it. I really try to continue to workout 6 days a week and take Saturday off. However there are times, like the past two days, that I do not feel like getting my workout in. I am tried after being up most of the night with my boys who have been sick that I just don’t want to put on the clothes and drag myself over to the gym. But I have made myself do it and I have made myself do the workout I had planned. I didn’t allow myself to stop spinning after 8 minutes when I really wanted to get off that bike and be done with my cardio workout for the day. I pushed myself to complete my 30 minutes, run a half mile and then do my abs. Today I made myself go and do my upper body workout.
I have to admit it feels good to have done it when my clothes are a little baggy, I feel better about my body, the scale says I am down but boy I don’t always want to do it. I started to think about what motivates me to go to the gym when I don’t want to and here is my short list.
* I feel better overall when I workout 6 days a week.
* I like the results I am getting from working out.
* I like the results I see on the scale.
* I like that I will be able to fit into my skinny shorts this summer.
* I am happier when I exercise.

Like you, I feel happier when I exercise. I also look at the time as my me time when I can be by myself and, this may sound odd, but I like to use that time to pray and talk to God.
