Yoga Baby! Yes I got in my yoga workout and it felt really good. I took a pretty good yoga class at a yoga studio rather than the gym I belong to. I really got a great workout and it also helped with all the stress I had been dealing with up until then. My sweet baby boy was sick again so I was unable to work out on Sunday and Monday. I know some of you may be thinking that I have options when my son is sick and that is true most of the time but not when they are in the hospital. It was much more important for me to be with him and miss two days then find a time to leave him.
However I did make up my two missed workouts this week. I ran four miles rather than two on Tuesday. It felt pretty good and I was able to run outside which I love. I think I push myself more when I have a destination and when I have to get back home. The treadmill always leaves the door open for being finished after 20 minutes or two miles. The next day I did my yoga workout and then squeezed in an upper body workout as well. I was a bit tired after these workouts but it felt great to push myself and get them done. It also payed off on the scale. Another pound down!
I also realized I need to ease my way into a spin class. I hopped on an exercise bike for a 20 minute workout rather than running. I decided to change up my cardio that day. The workout wasn’t too bad, my legs felt the burn when I was done. I did try to push myself as much as I could. The next day when my rear was sore I realized I could not hang in a 60 minute spin class just yet. I but I wouldn’t be able to sit down after one of those with a sore rear. I still hope to work up to a spin class in the near future.
I still journal my food and workouts every day in my SporteeGal Fitness Journal. There are some wonderful aspects about the SporteeGal Fitness Journal and then there are some parts of it that don’t work well for me. This journal is divided up into five sections: goals, cardio, strength, nutrition and notes. I do not use the goals or the notes area at all. I tried in the beginning to use the goal page but I have my goals in my head every day! The cardio page is fine, there is a lot of information to record if you want to, such as where you did your workout, how long, what you did, etc. I just got down how long and how far I ran. The strength pages do not provide enough space for me to record all of the different exercises that I do along with the weights I use. These pages end up looking like a bomb went off because I have so much information on there. The page that meets my needs the best is the nutrition page. I am able to record what I eat every day and the calories. Once the pages in the journal are full I am considering finding another journal that might meet my needs better.
I continue to be happy by the progress that I have made since I started working out. I know 6 months from now I will be exactly where I want in terms of my fitness goals.
How have your workout been? Please let me know. I am still looking for great workout songs. Post them please.

Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your son. I hope everything is okay now and that it wasn’t too serious a thing. Though anytime one is at the hospital it’s pretty serious.
I’m inspired to see your progress is continuing on the fitness side. My own attempt to get back into the swing of things is going in fits and starts but I am making progress so that is encouraging to me.
I also bought the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor to help inspire me and to track my progress. I am really liking the feature that allows you to race against your past courses. Though this morning I almost lost… to myself. lol
It really helping me to keep in my target zone on my power walks. I’m not really a runner.
