Week Five
Beauty Blog: Health and Fitness
Well another week down and I am feeling really good. I have lost 6 pounds since I started this adventure! I am 14 pounds away from reaching my goal and I could not be more excited. I wish it were falling faster but I can’t complain since I did have a baby 8.5 weeks ago.
My week was pretty good. I ran a total of 7.37 miles this week. I was able to complete a mile in 10 minutes 30 seconds on the treadmill at the gym without having an incline. When I would have the treadmill at a 4.0 incline I was running 12 minute 30 second miles. I would say my overall cardio was a huge success this week. My goal is to run about 8 miles a week. I also pushed myself with weight training. I added more weight when lifting, added some additional exercises and pushed myself with my ab workouts. My lower ab muscles are still pretty week from my C-Section but they are starting to wake up and come around. Yeah!
If you remember from last week my goal was to add a yoga class to my workout. Well that did not turn out as well as I had planned. I just could not the time to get a yoga class in with all that I had to do last week. One reader suggested that I try yoga on the Wii Fit. Well I did that, however it was not like taking a yoga class. I did the yoga poses that are offered on the disk that come with the Wii Fit. I could not just start the yoga class/poses, I had to create my little person, do the balance tests, enter birthday, height, etc. So that took some time. Then I was able to do the 4 yoga poses that were unlocked. I needed to spend more time doing other things on the Wii Fit so I could unlock more poses. Well I didn’t have the time to do more. This part of my week was my downfall and I wasn’t too happy about it. I do still plan to take a real yoga class sometime in the next few weeks.
This week my goals are to continue to drink more water, write down every calorie I take in, and take a spinning class. Any advice on spinning classes I would love to hear it. Post your comments!
