The eGift Certificate
Beauty Blog:
As the days go buy and our society moves into one that is one the go from the moment we wake up until the moment we go to sleep, retailers are finding more and more ways to still get your business. Twenty years ago none of us were shopping online for our holiday gifts and hoping we get free shipping and maybe even gift wrapping included in our “out the door” price. Back in the day we had to drive around until we found the perfect gift for the kids, Mom and Dad and everyone else on our list.
Now things are even easier than ever for the last minute shopper or the shopper who likes to get it all done the day after Thanksgiving. None of us have to wait in long lines at the mall, fight the crowds, find a parking place and then deal with the grumpy people we may encounter in the stores. We can all sit at home in our robes, drinking a hot drink and order at our pleasure. No need for stress and trying to find the “perfect” gift. That perfect gift is usually at our finger tips! Wow, how times have changed.
Not only can we shop online for any gift under the sun, we can send gift cards and now the eGift Card. Retailers from Bath and Body Works to http://www.bobbibrown.com are pushing eGift Cards two days before Christmas. They promise an email to your recipient first thing on Christmas Day. I guess their thought process is that your special someone will be checking their email first thing in the morning and not sitting around the tree opening gifts.
What are your thoughts on eGift Cards? Are they too impersonable or is our society moving toward a less connected way of living? your thoughts and opinions!
