The Economy and Your Beauty Regimen

Every day you can read the newspaper or look on the Internet and see that people have lost their jobs, are having their homes foreclosed on or their hours at work have been cut. So what does this mean for the beauty industry and for you. Does this mean that what you did a year ago in terms of your beauty regimen has changed or will be changing? Are you willing to go without a beauty product or facial because paying a bill is more important or it is a choice between food on your table to getting your hair done?

I know as a lover of beauty products I am looking for the deals and the free items, now more than ever. I would like to get more for every dollar I spend. I also know I am more likely to shop online only if I can get free shipping or I must have the product and I cannot find it locally. It is nice to support the local economy but it is also nice to shop from home. No hassles of going to the stores, finding parking, hoping what I want is in stock. And for some PamperYourselfDenver.com followers, they do not have the access to all the stores that the Denver metro area has. So they have no choice but to shop online.
While I sit and contemplate what new products I do and do not really need, what services I really do and do not need I find myself realizing there are just some things I won’t do myself that I know others will do and are amazing at.
Things I will not do Myself
- color my own hair - there is no way I could do this, I am sure I would have green hair or some other horrible thing happen to me if I tried this myself. I am not an allover color gal so highlights are out of my league.
- give myself a good manicure/pedicure - I love to have my toes painted with a cute flower on them and no matter how hard I would try there is no way I could do this alone. I cannot give myself a really good manicure/pedicure. However I am willing to have more time go between these services if I can keep my toenails looking great.
- a massage - for some reason I just cannot give myself a massage, must be that I have yet to figure out how to get my hands to massage my back. If I could get my husband to do it more often that would be great.
Due to the economy I am thinking about my next beauty purchases and services. What do I really need and or want? What is a must this month and I could wait until next month or a few months for.. I realize that my makeup draw is not in the need for any new additional eye shadows, I have yet to count them but I am sure there is at least 50 different shadows in there. Some are every day wear and some are special occasion wear. I also realize I really do not need any new colored glosses, just clear glosses. When my mascara runs out which will be soon, I will try a new product to see how well I like it because that is what I do.
