Scrub-a-dub in the Tub or Shower
Beauty Blog: Skin care
In the continual quest to find the best body scrub/body polish out there, Pamper Yourself Denver has been trying several! And the first and most important conclusion is that all body scrubs/body polishes are not made equal. Using a body scrub or polish several times a week is good for the body and skin. They act as an exfoliant and help the body get rid of dead skin. Sluffing off dead skin is also good to do on the days leading up to getting a wax but not on the day of. So here are three of the several body scrubs/body polishes we have tried and our experiences.
One of the first products I tried was Melt’s Lickin’ the Beaters Sugar Scrub. An 8 ounce jar is $24.50. I would say that this product is not worth the $24.50. The product is very running in the jar - remember do not add water to the jar- and goes on just like most other scrubs. After slathering this specific scrub on and then rinsing off, my skin felt a little softer but still required lotion after I got out of the shower. I was hoping for more of a lasting hydration in the Colorado climate. This product failed my personal test and I will not be purchasing another jar for $24.50.
The second product I tried was Arbonne’s Sugar Slush Body Scrub. An 8 ounce jar is $22.00. Another product that is way over priced for the results and for the size of the jar. After using this specific body scrub I felt like I had to wash again with a body wash. I did not feel like I was clean after using this product. I was not very impressed with the texture, the effectiveness or anything else related to this specific product.
The third product I tried was Lemongrass Spa’s Pink Grapefruit Body Polish. I cannot rave enough about this product. It is less expensive but a much superior product. A jar of this product is $13.00. If you order more than 3 then you save $1.00 on each jar. Another wonderful perk with this product is that it is not made until you order the product. It is not sitting on some warehouse shelve waiting for purchase. I love the way this product feels on my skin and after I get out of the shower. I would recommend this Colorado made product to anyone. It is a great body polish to help hydrate your skin, keep it feeling smooth and soft. Lemongrass Spa is a Colorado based company. Help support our local companies and buy the best of these three products.
