Most people have felt the pinch of the economy in some way. Maybe you have to skip buying the new eyeliner that you really want or maybe you are skipping out on your monthly lunch with friends or maybe times are even worse that than and you are just trying to make ends meet every month. Whatever your situation might be, you should really take a look around you when you are shopping and see what samples are out there for FREE!

Often times at Target or Sam’s Club on the weekends they are offering free food to shoppers - well that same thought process goes on in the beauty industry. Shop for samples when you are out. There are several benefits to sample products. First and foremost they are FREE! Who would not want to try something out for free first? Second they are great for travel and finally they are also a way to try out new products and see if you are interested.

Whole Foods often has at least one company giving away free samples in their beauty isles on a bi-weekly basis. Recently there was a person giving away free samples from Save Your World and I was able to walk away with products for my hair and my skin. You can always ask a sales person how often they have people in sharing information about products. This is a better way than asking when someone will be in giving away free stuff.

A lot of department store beauty counters will give you free samples if you are interested in a product but not sure you want to spend a lot of money right then. Most also provide free samples with your purchase. The thought is they want you to come back for full size products of the samples they have provided. If you have a product that you love, find a great beauty consultant at your favorite counter and become friends with them. Ask them to keep you in mind when there are sales and free samples with purchase. Let her know your desire to try out new products but that you do not like to buy the full size unless you know you love the product.

Shop your favorite store online. Tons and tons of companies such as UTLA and smashbox offer free samples with every purchase. It does not matter how big or small the purchase is for some cosmetic companies, they will fill your box with samples to get you coming back for more. It is a trick but often times it works. Try to stock up on your favorite products when they are on sale, there is free shipping and you get free samples.

If you have come across a new skincare line or a new beauty product, it never hurts to email the company and ask them for a sample. I would estimate that the majority of cosmetic companies have samples of a lot of their products. This way you might be able to try them out for free.
