Everyone knows that water does your body good. I know that and I also know that I do not drink nearly enough water a day. I am not a huge fan of water. If I have the choice between iced tea and water, iced tea wins hands down every time. That being said, I am always trying to find ways to get myself to drink more water. I also like my water cold. I won’t drink room temperature water unless I am desperate. This is one of the reasons that I drink bottled water 99% of the time. Our family goes through a ton of bottled water in a month. I know I could buy a filter for the sink or a Britta water pitcher for the fridge, but that is not as easy as the bottled water I take when I leave the house.

However, recently in a health magazine I came across a rave review for the Liv Pure water-bottle by fit & fresh so I decided to check it out for myself. After visiting their website, I found that I could actually buy this product at my local Target and that is exactly what I did. I brought the product home, washed it and was ready for my personal “test drive”.

The bottle itself is larger than a the normal bottle of water that I carry, this bottle holds 20 ounces. I guess that is a good thing, it might encourage me to drink more water. I can add ice and water to the bottle since the whole idea behind the bottle is that the filter will eliminate the nasty stuff I do not like in normal tap water. After adding my water and ice, putting the bottle back together - three pieces: top, bottom and filter- I was ready to give this bottle a try.

Disappointed was all I can say. I do not think the water tasted better, in fact I think the water tasted worse than just drinking tap water. I do not know if it was the filter that left the nasty taste in my mouth or something else. I even had my daughter try the water to see if it was just me and she didn’t like the way it tasted either. So I think as far as water bottles go - stay away from the Liv Pure water bottle. If you have had a better experience with this or any other water bottle, let us know!
