Lights, Camera, Lashes!
Beauty Blog: Make-up
Another chance to review a new mascara. Mascara is a huge business, you do not have to look far to find a mascara in every department store, every grocery store, every drug store. The people who make mascara make a lot of money off of it! If you thought about how many mascaras you have bought in your life that would add up to a lot of money. Not to mention the mascara that you bought and hated. Some will take it back and tell the store that it sucked and others will just suck up the money.
I recently tried out tarte cosmetic’s lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara. Let me tell you what they say about their own mascara before I tell you my thoughts.
This is what we call a push-up bra for your lashes™ a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning) dermatologist tested mascara that gives dramatic, thick, sexy lashes and is clinically proven to increase lash volume by 430%. Lights, camera, lashes! mascara is clinically proven to increase lash volume by 430%. Our patented dual-brush technology separates and evenly coats lashes while the unique 4-in-1 formula gives you bombshell lashes worthy of a freeze frame.
Clinical results: Increases lash volume by 430%, Lengthening: Rice bran & carnauba wax help extend the length of lashes, Curling: Synthetic film formers hold in curl, Volumizing: The formula containing provitamin B5 helps gives the appearance of thicker lashes, Conditioning: natural olive esters coat lashes and help protect against breakage.
All of those claims are wonderful, however I was less than impressed with this product. I do not think it did anything for my lashes except add some color. I do not think it lengthened them or made them fuller. I used the color black because that is all I use. The wand is plushy and just enough mascara stays on the brush - not too much, not too little - but the actual product did not do the things it claimed it would. Now I do not see a need to return the mascara to the store because if I ran out of my other mascara this would be a good stand in, I could also use the mascara with a different brush to see if that would make any difference. However I would save your money and try some of the other mascaras out there.
