My eyes have a tendency to water a lot of the time and this causes my eye-shadow to clump, disappear and or run together. Not a very great look to have an hour after I have gotten ready or three hours after I have gotten ready. After experiencing this problem for awhile I decided I would start my eye make up application with a base coat of a primer or creme eye color - really whatever you want to call it. I think depending on the brand will depend on what they are called. I tried several MAC colors and found that they really didn’t do the job I was looking for. I then moved to Bobbi Brown and I really love her cream shadows that can be used as a base. However, one day the Bobbi Brown counter was out of the color I used so I was given a sample of Laura Mercier’s Metallic Crème Eye Colour and I really liked it. 
I use a little each day and my sample has lasted a long time. I like the way the creme goes on with just my finger, smooths out evenly and lasts a long time.
