Another Amazing Dad story!
This is my entry to the fathers day give away. I would like to nominate my dad. He has 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 step sons, 2 grandsons he is raising as his own and a whole hockey team that has grown up with him as their father figure. My mother was a single parent when he met her. With two young boys having no guidence, my father raised them as his own. He started a hockey team within a broken community, taking in my brothers friends and developing them into fine young men. These were troubled boys, with no father in (the majority of) their families. He did everything he could to keep them out of jail. 10 years later my brothers grew up and my parents started having children together. My older sister was a wild child who got pregnant when she was 13. My father took on the care of her son, not wanting him to be lost to the child welfare system. 5 years later she bore another son, but she is too drug-riddled to care for him as well. so My parents took full custody of the boys and wanted to raise them as their own. Currently my parents are seperated but still sharing the responsability of raising their grandchildren. Now I myself had fallen in love witha wonderful young man in which also grew up without a father figure. My dad welcomed him to our family, set him up with a job working with him, bought him a car and helped him to stabilize himself to take care of his own family. My spouse now calls him dad too! This is a nomination of my father, a community dad who he himself grew up without a father. It takes a real man to care for another mans kids! Deziree
